What we wrote about Harvey last year is still very much the case: "At 6-5, 215 lbs., Harvey has excellent raw power, good speed and a great arm, but his horrendous plate discipline is holding him back." Harvey needs to get significantly more selective to succeed at higher levels.
At 6-5, 215, Harvey has excellent raw power, good speed and a great arm, but his horrendous plate discipline is holding him back. Harvey did manage 24 home runs and 30 doubles in 467 Low-A at-bats despite swinging at everything in sight, so there's no doubt about his talent. But until he gets more selective, we don't see him having a ton of success at higher levels, let alone down the road in the majors.
At 6-5, 215 lbs., Harvey has big-time power potential, good speed and a great arm, but struggled with his plate discipline in the short-season Northwest League last year. He hit 14 HR and slugged .481 and we expect him to hit for even more power as he matures, but he'll need to improve his strike-zone judgment to succeed at higher levels.
Harvey, 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, has big-time power potential, good speed and a great arm. The sixth overall pick in the 2003 draft tore his ACL in an outfield collision in November 2002, but was able to get some at-bats in rookie ball down the stretch last year. Expect Harvey to start off in Low-A ball in 2004.
