Stetter took a step back in 2010 after a solid rookie season in 2009. He started slowly in Milwaukee and was eventually sent to Triple-A Nashville. Things didn't go much better for him there, and he had a 6.86 ERA in 42 innings. Stetter has always struggled with control but also got killed by the long ball in 2010. He comes into spring training looking to win a spot in the Milwaukee bullpen.
Stetter is slowly becoming one of the better lefty specialists in the game. What makes him better than most is that he has shown the ability to also get right-handed hitters out as well. The Brewers will use him in the lefty-specialist role again in 2010.
Stetter looked good in the LOOGY role for the Brewers late in the season. He finished with a 3.20 ERA while posting a 11.01 K/9IP rate. The Brewers will be using in that same role in 2009, while his place in the bullpen would become even more secure if Brian Shouse ends up leaving as a free agent during the winter.
Stetter had a good season at Triple-A Nashville and got called up to Milwaukee late in the season. He looked good enough in his short stint in Milwaukee that he'll be considered for the bullpen this spring.
