Jack Leathersich

Halfway through the 2013 campaign, Leathersich was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas. While he was able to maintain a strikeout rate north of 14.0 K/9 with Las Vegas, Leathersich also walked a batter per inning, resulting in a dismal 7.76 ERA and 2.10 WHIP in 28 appearances (29 innings). His 2014 season played out in a similar fashion. Leathersich started the year back at Binghamton and once again posted strong numbers, but the move up in early August came with more control issues (7.6 BB/9). The 24-year-old did, however, hold lefties to a .167 average following his promotion, and if he can find the strike zone more consistently early on in 2015, Leathersich could work himself into the discussion for a major-league opportunity.
