Miller was designated for assignment by the Indians on Monday after posting a 2.89 ERA at Triple-A Buffalo, the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
There's no indication if Miller plans to stick with the Indians or opt for free agency. Miller figured to be a prominent member of the bullpen in 2007 before a forearm strain derailed his spring. He'll latch on somewhere if he opts for free agency.

It's hard to believe that Miller will be 35 when the season begins, as he is the kind of guy you keep waiting to break out. With all of the volatility in middle relief, Miller's health may be the only thing holding him back from a decent major league payday.
The side-arming Miller continued his righty-killing ways (.221 against) and even got some lefties out (.194 against) in 2005 before elbow problems shut him down in mid-July. He's expected to be completely recovered by the spring.
Miller, known mainly as a righty specialist, was signed by the Indians at the beginning of last season after being cut by Colorado. After pitching very well in Buffalo, the Indians brought him up. He is much more effective against righties than he is against lefties and managed to get seven holds and a save last season. Expect to see him in the same role this year.
