The 30-year-old reliever from Venezuela is something of an enigma, as he last pitcher for an affiliate of a major league club in 2006 before moving back to Central America to test his wares. He's played in the Mexican League for the past two seasons, using his high-90s fastball and quality slider to retire batters with ease. He'll get an invitation to big league camp in spring training to see if his stuff plays as well against more seasoned hitters.
