Past Fantasy Outlooks
2004
2003
Vander Wal was talked out of retirement to sign with the Reds. He'll be the team's fourth outfielder and top left-handed pinch-hitter, and is capable of playing first base when Sean Casey can't go.
Vander Wal filed for free agency last October and will probably fill a fourth OF/pinch-hitter role somewhere. Vander Wal does a decent job of getting on base and has a little power as well, but at age 36, we don't see him landing a starting job.
