Bocachica earned a promotion in September following a .326/.422/.595 line in 291 at-bats at Triple-A Sacramento. He's a long shot to win a spot on the roster as a reserve outfielder following the A's acquisition of Ryan Goleski in the Rule 5 draft, however.
Bocachica missed most of the year with a broken wrist. He'll be 30, and has spent a good part of the millennium touring minor league cities all over North America. This year will be no different.
Bocachica's 1-for-22 performance to start last season was enough to get him designated for assignment. He is a longshot to ever play in the majors again, let alone be a fantasy option.
He played a couple games at second base in addition to all three outfield spots, so Bocachica has the potential to be mediocre for you at several positions. He has 10 home runs and seven stolen bases in 311 major-league at-bats, so there's a twinge of potential here, but it's nothing you want to get dreamy about on draft day -- he's a utility man at best for the time being. Pass for now.
