Past Fantasy Outlooks
2004
2003
Claimed off waivers from the Indians, Herrera was at one time thought of to be a sleeper candidate for a closer job in Cleveland. He's got a steep task in from of him, attempting to turn his career around in the thin air of Colorado, but Herrera's numbers in the low minors were good enough that the Rockies are willing to let him try.
Still young (23), Herrera is in the Billy Wagner mold of short, hard-throwing lefthanders. He will be in the Tribe's pen in 2003, and may be a sleeper closer candidate if Baez falters.
