Majewski has signed a minor league deal with the Rangers, reports Anthony Andro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
ANALYSIS
Majewski will be assigned to Triple-A Round Rock. He last played at the Double-A level in the Athletics organization in 2010, where he hit .262 with nine home runs in 343 plate appearances. As organizational depth, don't look for Majewski to see any major league time with a playoff-caliber team like the Rangers.

Majewski hasn't been the same since shoulder surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2005 season. He's 25 now, and only hit four homers and stole seven bases in 99 at-bats for Triple-A Ottawa in 2006. He'll need to re-prove himself in the minors if he's ever going to make it in the big leagues.
It was a shame how 2005 ended up for Majewski, as the Orioles recommended against surgery for him in late 2004 after he complained of shoulder problems only to send him under the knife when it wasn't fixed by the time spring training rolled around. What resulted was a lost season for Majewski, the Orioles 2004 minor league player of the year, though he was decent in a short stint in the Arizona Fall League. Nick Markakis has since passed Majewski on the organizational depth chart in the outfield, and he'll have to re-prove himself in the high minors before even getting another shot in the majors.
Majewski was named the Orioles Minor League Player of the Year in 2004. He was promoted to the majors briefly before being shut down with a shoulder injury. With the Orioles planning on signing a marquee free agent outfielder in the offseason, Majewski will probably not get a chance to play regularly in the majors until at least 2006. Expect him to spend most of the 2005 season in Triple-A before receiving another September call-up.
