30-Year-Old CatcherC
Milwaukee Brewers
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Freitas got his first extended run in the majors last season as a 29-year-old, with his sixth professional organization. He got into 36 games, posting a .215/.277/.312 line that very much fits the profile of a journeyman third or fourth catcher. He lines up as the second catcher heading into the season for a Seattle team that lacks any real depth at the position. He did manage a very impressive .349/.428/.527 line with Triple-A Tacoma, though that came in a small, 39-game sample and required an unsustainable .409 BABIP, so there's little reason to believe his offensive profile has dramatically improved. Even if he does earn unexpected playing time this season, a difficult home park and weakened lineup will serve to dampen his numbers. Read Past Outlooks

Freitas was traded to the Brewers from the Mariners on Sunday for minor-league pitcher Sal Biasi.
ANALYSIS
Freitas will join Triple-A San Antonio as catching depth for the Brewers, serving in a similar role as he did with the Mariners. The 30-year-old is unlikely to see the majors unless Yasmani Grandal or Manny Pina suffers an injury.
