De La Rosa signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on Saturday, Baseball America's Matt Eddy reports.
ANALYSIS
De La Rosa has a decent fastball and changeup, but his history of command problems resurfaced again in 2010. He posted a 56:41 K:BB ratio in 72.2 innings for Double-A Trenton, prompting the Yankees to designate him for assignment in September. He also came under investigation for some alleged B-12 injections last season that Major League Baseball wanted to determine were actually B-12 and not something on the banned substance list.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2010
2009
De La Rosa spent most of last season in Double-A, posting a 77:41 K:BB ratio in 82.2 innings while holding opposing batters to a .221 average. While his strikeout rate was good, his command routinely faltered, and he forked over 11 homers after allowing just two in Single-A the previous year. The Yankees still like his long-term potential, as evidenced by his spot on the 40-man roster, but he’ll need to improve his breaking ball and harness his low- to mid-90s fastball before advancing further in the system.
A converted outfielder, De La Rosa was turned into a starter at Low-A Charleston before getting promoted to High-A Tampa. Across both levels (and roles), De La Rosa had a 125:44 K:BB ratio in 106.2 innings, while holding the opposition to a .190 average, 72 hits and just two homers. He'll probably begin 2009 at Double-A, where De La Rosa will continue to work on his secondary arsenal to support a fastball that touches 95 mph.
