Serrano defected from Cuba last April and still must undergo a physical and complete some paperwork before the deal can become official. However, the Cubs hope to have him in camp before spring training ends before sending him to High-A or Double-A. He's still something of an unknown, but is believed to throw in the low 90s with a good breaking ball.
