Greene said Friday that he is returning to baseball, the Shore Sports Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Greene did not report to camp back in March and it appeared as if he might be walking away from baseball. Greene didn't have a firm date for when he would be back on the field. The former first-round pick will likely be assigned to Low-A Lakewood when he is in playing shape.

2012 Fantasy Outlook
Greene was selected 39th overall in last year's draft and is considered a big-time power hitting prospect. Phillies scouting director Marti Wolever has compared him to Jonathan Singleton, a top prospect in the Astros' system and former Phillies farm hand, because they have a similar build, swing and bat speed. Greene did not play after being drafted and may open the 2012 season in extended spring training before receiving an assignment in the summer. He's very raw, but his near 80 grade on the 20-80 scouting scale makes him a prospect to watch.
