Silva showed promise during his first professional season in 2009 but has been considered a bit of a disappointment the last few seasons as there was little or no improvement in power or plate discipline. This season, however, Silva has increased his walk rate and cut his strikeout rate by a little more than five percent. He's also been flashing a bit more speed as well, so should these trends continue, you may see him find his way into Double-A by the end of the year.
