We could write: "See Doug Glanville", but while Goodwin is just as bad of a hitter, he's such a great base-stealer, that he's a better bet to add 10-20 steals to your deep single-league roto squad. The Cubs re-signed him to back up Corey Patterson, and Goodwin could even see some starts early on if Patterson isn't completely recovered from knee surgery by the start of the season.

Did you know Goodwin is currently 12th among all active players in steals with 345? No? Shows you how much that matters. Goodwin could help a big-league club, as he helped the Giants in 2002, as a fourth outfielder. Instead, because of his speed, Goodwin has been continually miscast as an everyday player and leadoff hitter, and despite his base-stealing ability, he's never posted the on-base percentage to justify the leadoff status and playing time. (Only once in Goodwin's career, with Texas in '98, has he ever posted an OBP better than the league average.)
