Where's the upside? Even in your deepest leagues, you're better off drafting a prospect with less chance of immediate playing time than go with Hollandsworth, assuming he's in line for a platoon half of a corner outfield job. He hasn't had a roto-useful season since 2002.
After a poor 2005 season, it's unclear Hollandsworth will win a major league job next season. Given every opportunity by veteran-loving Dusty Baker with the Cubs, Hollandsworth couldn't hit enough to stay in the lineup. After being traded to the Braves he struggled in a reserve role. With the sharp dropoff in his ability to get on base or hit for power, he's a high-risk, low-upside play.
Hollandsworth was having a fine season as a fourth outfielder and left-handed pinch hitter before fracturing his left shin on a foul ball. Although he could win a bigger role with the Cubs this spring, keep in mind that his .939 OPS came in just 178 AB and that he could very easily regress to his career OPS mark of .784.
To no one's surprise, Hollandsworth got hurt in 2003 -- and when he wasn't on the DL, he was ineffective at best. He'll try to make the Cubs roster, but his days of being a starter seem to be over.
Texas had planned to give him a chance in centerfield the final two months after acquiring him from Colorado, but a strained quad quickly ended those thoughts. He's now a free agent after being unable to shed the label of anything more than a platoon corner outfielder. The prospect of him playing outside of Coors Field or Arlington should sink most of his fantasy value but watch where he lands.
