Pratt had a decent season backing up Mike Lieberthal and serving as Jon Lieber's personal catcher. He can still hit a lefthander and tutor a young catcher. That's the role he'll play as Atlanta's backup catcher.
The veteran backup catcher is winding down his career, and logged a decent season for the Phillies. He hit into a triple play on August 19th, for you trivia buffs.
Pratt had a down season offensively compared to 2002, but he is still a dependable backup catcher behind Mike Lieberthal. This on-base and slugging percentages were down, but his homers (4) and RBI (20) were equal to 2002.
