Ohman remained healthy for the entirety of the 2011 season, but he was left out of the team's closing mix entirely, and he was only the third-best lefty in the bullpen. His 3.18 K/BB was the best of his career, but he continued to allow about a hit per inning. His role could grow in 2012 if the White Sox make good on their promise to move Chris Sale to the rotation, but his tendency to surrender home runs (1.35 HR/9IP) will likely keep him out of the ninth-inning picture. Still, there's some upside given his strong strikeout rates (9.1 K/9 IP last season).

Ohman had a respectable year for a LOOGY but couldn't make it through the season in one piece as elbow problems cut short his September. Coming off 2009 shoulder surgery that's a bad sign, but the White Sox were willing to give him a two-year deal in January. If he's healthy, he can be effective as a second lefty in the bullpen, but that's becoming an increasingly big 'if' as Ohman gets older.

Ohman, who made only 21 appearances with a 5.84 ERA this past season, underwent shoulder surgery on Sept. 29, but is expected to be ready for spring training. His left-handedness should get him a look from another organization, and he's still just 32 and one year removed from a solid season with the Braves.

Ohman is a hard-throwing lefty who showed improved control last season to go along with a strong strikeout rate. However, he struggled with a 6.35 ERA in August and September. He'll work in a set-up role again, but there's not a lot of upside for fantasy purposes.

Ohman's a hard-throwing bullpen lefty who can miss bats but lacks pinpoint command and has a tendency to give up too many flyballs. A change of scenery in Atlanta could help, but there's no reason to think the 30-year-old will be anything more than a serviceable middle reliever.

Ohman struck out more than a batter per inning for the Cubs last year and should resume a middle relief role. Until he gets the walks down and generates more ground balls, he's unlikely to be anything special.

Called up in late April, Ohman pitched well for the Cubs, striking out more than a batter an inning. We'd like to see him shave off some walks and cut down on the home runs allowed, but keep in mind that he's been working his way back from arm problems the last two seasons. Usually velocity returns before command.

Ohman, who underwent reconstructive elbow surgery in January 2002 and then had arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur from his left elbow in February 2003, was finally healthy enough to pitch in 2004, and the results were mixed. His strikeout rate was excellent, but he allowed far too many base runners and his ERA suffered for it. Velocity often returns before command after long layoffs, so it might be another year before Ohman's recovery can be evaluated. Expect him to start the season at Triple-A and be in line for a call-up if he does well.
