Past Fantasy Outlooks
2008
2007
2006
Johnson had an injury-plagued first year with the Mets organization, missing a month early in the year with a right shoulder injury then being sidelined with a hand injury and lastly, breaking his ankle in August. The various ailments limited him to just 60 games for Triple-A New Orleans, where he is expected to open 2008.
Johnson bounced between Triple-A and the majors in 2006 and has good speed and decent power. In November, he was traded to the Mets, where he is not guaranteed regular playing time. He could platoon in both left and right fields in 2007 and would be a good sleeper pick with more at-bats.
The 24-year-old looked like a failed tools-prospect, but posted decent on-base averages the past two years. He could win a job as reserve outfielder this spring. He could post decent home run totals if he gets at bats.
