Joe Bisenius

Bisenius pitched two scoreless innings for Philadelphia in 2007 and, while he was called up to the team’s roster for a week in mid-July, did not make a big-league appearance in 2008. Bisenius, 26, was not bad with a 3.43 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 42 innings of relief with Double-A Reading last season but struggled mightily in his 21.2 innings with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, posting a 7.06 ERA and 1.94 WHIP. His time to find a way back to the majors may be slipping away and he’s unlikely to have any value as a mid-inning reliever even if he does get called up at any point in 2009.
