NFL Picks: Rams, Colts, Ravens, Jaguars, Seahawks and Pats

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

DDD won Week 7 at 8-5, but who cares about that? The bigger news is that Stopa went 2-11, putting him deeply in debt to his bookie who once lifted a deadbeat up by his tongue (based on a true story). Pianow's still in first place after going 7-6.

This week, we have a whopping six consensus picks: the Rams, Ravens, Colts, Jaguars, Seahawks and Pats.

Enjoy the games.

EricksonI really want to believe in this Bengals team, but I can't buy into having them give points at Seattle, where home field still matters.
PianowskiAll those big spreads, such a weird week. Give me something stable I can believe in: Seattle's home-field edge.
LissLike the Rams, Seahawks, Pats and Chiefs.
StopaAfter going 2-11, is it possible to fade myself? In all seriousness, I know it sounds nuts, but I'm really not that down. My best bet covered by 30-plus points for the second straight week, and I didn't have a strong lean on many of the games. Generally, I hope to go 75% or so on the games I feel strongly about (the games I'd actually bet) and go 50% on the rest (the games I'd avoid). Last week, it just so happened that I lost all the games I saw as coin flips. So fade me if you wish, but I'm undaunted... Anyway, the theme of this week is huge lines. Vegas knows the Dolphins and Rams are 0-6 ATS, so the public has to pay a premium to bet against them. I'll avoid the excise tax, especially on the Rams; +14 at home is the inverse of the 2007 Pats, who finished well under .500 ATS down the stretch after Vegas adjusted. In much the same way, these doormats are going to start covering... The Titans shouldn't be laying double-digits against anyone, even the Colts, and the Jaguars should only be getting 10 against an elite team - the Texans don't qualify. I'll lay the points with the Ravens, who should rebound against a bad Cardinals defense (just as they did in Week 3, winning 37-7 in STL one week after losing to the Titans), and the 49ers, as the Browns have no business being 3-3... I really like the Eagles, at home, off a bye, as Andy Reid's record off a bye is ridiculously good. The Eagles have too much talent not to make a run, and it starts this week. The other games I see as "coin flips."
Del DonCarolina's defense is suspect, but I like them at home against an inferior Minnesota team this week.
