Chicago Cubs – Carlos Marmol converted his fourth save in a row. It didn't come without first allowing a double. Normally it is wildness that restricts Marmol rather than allowing a hit.

Milwaukee – It wasn't a blown save, but John Axford allowed a solo home run and took the loss in Sunday's game.

San Francisco – Santiago Casilla allowed three hits in a row to blow Sunday's save. He was struck out two to get out of a jam in a tie game and turned out to be the winner. Casilla has allowed nine hits in his last 3.2 innings of work.

Jim Thome, 1B, BAL – We just profiled Thome, thinking the Phillies could be forced to play him in the field as Ty Wigginton as failed to run with the first base job. The Phillies turned around and traded Thome to the Baltimore Orioles for prospects. No longer will Thome cash in on side bets with Jonathan Papelbon and no longer will Thome have to rely on sporadic first base at-bats. He will be slotted as the designated hitter for the Orioles, where he hit fifth in the lineup on Sunday. Pay special notice if you are in an AL-only league.
