Closer Watch

Royals – Greg Holland is going strong as Kansas City's closer, converting all four of his chances (plus a win) while giving up only one run since the trade of Jonathan Broxton. He nailed it down Wednesday with a pair of strikeouts.

Mets – Frank Francisco was pulled on Sunday after coming on in a tying-run-on-deck save situation and failing to record an out, and Jon Rauch collected his second save of the year. Fast-forward to Thursday: Francisco entered with a seven-run lead to get some work, and he was only able to get two outs while allowing five baserunners. Just as he did on Sunday, Rauch came in on Thursday and recorded a strikeout for the save. With Francisco looking so rough and Bobby Parnell having struggled in the closer's role while the former was on the DL, this is a situation to monitor.

Recommended Pickup
Jon Jay, OF, STL – Kind of a forgotten man thanks to some injuries, Jay has been doing his best to make fantasy owners remember his name of late. He's collected 20 hits in his last 45 at-bats (.444) with a pair of homers, three steals, 10 runs and eight RBI. Think you can find some room for that kind of hitting in your fantasy outfield? It's not like this is a new thing for Jay – he's a career .301 hitter and is carrying a very fantasy-relevant .311/.390/.416 line with 13 steals into Thursday's action.

Other Recent Recommendations: Yonder Alonso, Eric Young Jr., Andy Dirks, Chris Carter, Tommy Hunter
