Sean Burnett, RP, WAS – (Elbow)

Matt Shoemaker, RP, LAA

Closer Watch

New York Mets – You'll see that reliever Jeurys Familia picked up the save on Wednesday night, but you can ignore that situation altogether. Familia came into the game in the eighth inning with two runners on base which is why he netted the save, but as long as Jenrry Mejia is locking down games with the success rate he's had to this point there won't be a need for Familia in a saves capacity.

Miami Marlins – You still have to wonder what manager Mike Redmond is thinking bringing in closer Steve Cishek in non-save situations, especially since Cishek has been getting regular work of late. He came into the game on Wednesday and gave up a run on two hits in an inning pitched when he should've been resting.

Recommended Pickup

Tommy Medica, 1B, SD – With the way Yonder Alonso has been playing ball this season, Medica makes for an intriguing grab right now. Medica has power potential, with 23 homers at three different levels in 2013, while knocking in two home runs over the last four days at the big league level this season. Medica is a deeper-league option, but still worth noting and paying attention to considering the general lack of oomph with the Padres offense overall in 2014.

Other Recent Recommendations:Tommy La Stella, Jesus Aguilar, Zach Britton, Adam Dunn, Lonnie Chisenhall and Jimmy Nelson
