Pitcher
Julio Teheran, ATL vs. MIA ($8,500): In all honesty, your choice on the bump is going to come down to Clayton Kershaw ($13,300) or Chris Sale ($11,800). And while Sale's matchup with the Royals may seem slightly more inviting, it's nearly impossible to go against Kershaw, who has made at least 57 fantasy points in five straight starts.
You're not going to get that kind of production out of Teheran but at almost $5,000 less than Kershaw there's value to be had against the light-hitting Marlins, who have managed just two runs in each of their first two games in Atlanta. Teheran has allowed only three runs over 33.2 innings in June, striking out 34, and if you can garner 40-plus points out of him and allocate your savings appropriately elsewhere, you'll have a nice contrarian play. Watch the weather forecast here however, as rain looks likely.
Catcher
Blake Swihart, BOS at TOR ($2,400): With so many top-tiered pitchers throwing Sunday, it seems prudent to punt the catcher spot and simply hope for the best, rather than pay a premium for Buster Posey ($4,100) or Jonathan Lucroy ($3,200). Obviously be sure to confirm Swihart is in the lineup, but if he is he'll face knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who has allowed nine home runs in 10 starts this year.
First Base
Matt Adams, STL at WAS ($3,300): Adams was swinging a hot bad prior to missing the last two games due to a back issue. There's no guarantee he'll return for Sunday's contest, and at a position where there is considerable depth, Adams may not be worth the risk. But assuming he's in the lineup, he'll bring a 1.444 OPS in nine career at-bats against Sunday's starter Stephen Strasburg.
Second Base
Devon Travis, TOR vs. BOS ($2,100): Travis has hit safely in all four games since returning from injury, and this is a case of a player whose price hasn't caught up with his potential. He's scored in three of those four games, and carries a career .930 OPS and .397 wOBP against left-handed pitching, making him a fine low-risk option despite facing BoSox ace David Price.
Third Base
Danny Valencia, OAK vs. DET ($2,800): Valencia's spot as the team's cleanup hitter looks like it will give him a chance to feast on Tigers starter Mike Pelfrey, who's been hit hard regardless of who steps into the box, bringing a 4.87 ERA on the road into Sunday's start. Valencia had only three hits in 23 at-bats prior to his three-hit outing Saturday, so maybe a minor hot streak is pending.
Shortstop
Marcus Semien, OAK vs. DET ($2,500): I'm certainly not suggesting rolling with both Valencia and Semien, merely saying they merit consideration at their low prices against a struggling pitcher. Semien is a one-trick pony who only offers value when he hits the long ball, as he's hitting .219 with 10 home runs. Pelfrey has allowed 10 home runs in nine starts, while Semien has not gone deep since May 16, making him the perfect tournament gamble.
Outfield
Mark Trumbo, BAL at CLE ($3,600): Stacking Oriole bats against Mike Clevinger, who has allowed 10 runs in 10.1 innings this season, seems like a wise strategy. Enter Trumbo, who has two home runs and two doubles in his last four games and has hit right-handers better than usual to date, bringing a .389 wOBP and .906 OPS against righties into Sunday.
Jay Bruce, CIN at MIL ($3,300): Bruce remains a strikeout risk, fanning 24.6 percent of the time against right handers. But he owns two home runs and three doubles in 17 at-bats against Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson, a pitcher who has allowed six home runs in his last four starts.
Whit Merrifield, KAN vs CWS ($2,600): Merrifield was in the two-hole Saturday as a left fielder, and could find his way into the lineup Sunday at third base due to a hamstring injury to Cheslor Cuthbert. Merrifield has 10 hits over his last five games, but has struck out once in each of those outings, giving him a bit of a low floor against ace Chris Sale.
