Pitcher
Jeff Locke, PIT vs. LAD ($6,600): When scouring for value, you sometimes have to take a risk or two. That's my story with Locke and I'm sticking to it, as it can undeniably be frustrating to roster the Pirates southpaw. However, he brings 40 fantasy point upside as well, a mark he's matched or exceeded three times over the last seven starts. You also have to consider the Dodgers' dreadful track record against lefties, as they've tallied a miserable .288 wOBA against that handedness that's third-lowest in the majors, along with a .224 average and 20.6 percent strikeout rate. Locke has sandwiched two solid outings in June around a pair of forgettable starts, but one of those was notably at Coors. He shut out the Giants over 6.2 innings at PNC Park in his last trip to the mound, and brings a solid 4-1 record and 3.26 ERA at home into Saturday's contest.
Catcher
Willson Contreras, CHC at MIA ($2,700): Nab the Cubs' backstop at this price while you can, as he's now slashing .412/.474/.941 after a 2-for-4 night on Friday that included a two-run homer. There could definitely be more where that came from on Saturday against Marlins starter Paul Clemens, who's yielded a ludicrous .708 wOBA, three homers and a 54.1 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters over a small 14-batter sample to date this season. A glance at Clemens' career stats reveals, relatively speaking, more of the same. He's yielded a .403 wOBA, 14 of 24 career homers and a 35.4 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters over a much more extensive 231-batter sample, and Contreras has a .703 wOBA , all three homers and a 40 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching in this, his rookie campaign.
First Base
Adam Lind, SEA vs. STL ($3,000): Lind brings some nice power potential against the long ball-prone Mike Leake, whom he's touched up for a .500/.571/1.000 line over six at-bats along with a homer and three RBI. The former Brewers and Blue Jays slugger has had his share of struggles at the plate in his first Mariners season, but his power hasn't left him and he's tallied 10 of his 11 homers on the season against righties with the latest being a game-winning three-run shot on Friday versus Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal. Leake has also surrendered 10 of his 14 homers on the season to lefty bats, and has generated a 4.66 ERA and .343 wOBA over 19.1 June innings.
Second Base
Whit Merrifield, KAN vs. HOU ($3,400): Merrifield is in the midst of an outstanding rookie campaign, now having hit safely in nine of his last 10 games. He's looked good against both handedness of pitchers this season and has a .330 wOBA against righties that rises to .375 when facing them at Kauffmann Stadium. He owns a solid 35.1 percent hard contact against right-handers as well, while Astros starter Mike Fiers yields a .353 wOBA to righty bats that climbs to .398 when facing them on the road. He's enjoying a very solid month of June to date but continues to give up the long ball, now having surrendered 13 round-trippers over 79.1 innings this season.
Third Base
Todd Frazier, CWS vs. TOR ($3,200): Luis Valbuena ($3,100) also presents as a potentially solid value play versus Chris Young on Saturday, but did leave Friday's game early with lower back tightness. We give the call to Frazier in this spot, as he brings massive home run upside and is showing signs of life at the plate again. Following a two-hit night Friday, the veteran slugger now has double-digit fantasy points in three of the last four games, with homers in two of those contests. A favorable BvP against a knuckleballer is never a bad thing either, and Frazier has touched up R.A. Dickey for two homers and three RBI along with a pair of singles and a pair of walks over 15 plate appearances. Dickey has also given up a .339 wOBA and four homers over 24.1 June innings.
Shortstop
Brandon Crawford, SFG vs. PHI ($3,000): Crawford gets to renew acquaintances with Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson, whom he's managed a .571 average against over seven career at-bats. Hellickson has been victimized by left-handed bats this season for a .409 wOBA, eight homers, a 5.30 xFIP and 35.4 percent hard contact rate, and has a 6.38 ERA and .403 wOBA overall in 24 June frames. Crawford has generated a .345 wOBA and all six of his homers this season against right-handed pitchers.
Outfield
Seth Smith, SEA vs. STL ($3,000): Smith is the second Mariner with a very favorable track record against Cardinals starter Mike Leake, as he's punished him for a .625/.667/1.250 line over eight at-bats with a pair of doubles and a solo homer. That's a lot of hard contact over such a small sample size, and Smith also owns a healthy .351 wOBA against righties that becomes an even more impressive .400 over his 93 plate appearances against them at home.
Brett Eibner, KC vs. HOU ($2,000): Eibner is our minimum-priced special of the day and quite frankly, his numbers don't come close to meriting the dubious price tag he's currently sporting. The rookie has reached base safely in eight of his last nine starts with hits in seven of those contests. He's also posted double-digit fantasy points in four of his last nine games and brings minimal risk. He owns a solid .327 wOBA against right-handed pitching, while Fiers' vulnerability to right-handed hitters was detailed in Merrifield's entry.
Steven Moya, DET vs. CLE ($2,600): Moya has been wielding a red-hot bat over his first 59 at-bats in 2016 and has managed to contribute across the box score. The rookie's extra-base hit tally consists of four doubles, two triples and three homers, and his average is at .322 after hitting safely for the eighth time in the last 10 games Friday. He also owns a .389 wOBA and .302 ISO against right-handed pitchers and has hit all three of his homers against them as well. Indians starter Carlos Carrasco is a quality pitcher but has yielded a .328 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season along with a .371 wOBA overall and five homers over 25 June innings.
