FanDuel MLB: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

PITCHER

Tyler Anderson, COL vs. STL ($6,400): Anderson continues to acquit himself well at Coors Field with a 3.04 ERA, .310 wOBA and just a 0.89 HR/9 over 71 innings at home this season. The Cardinals are a different offense when facing southpaws, as they've struck out at a 21 percent clip against lefties. They've also been the worst offense in the majors the last seven days, mustering only a .244 wOBA and striking out at a bloated 24.5 percent rate over that span. Anderson has scored 28 to 46 fantasy points in seven of his last eight home starts, cementing his case even further at what is a bargain price.

CATCHER

J.T. Realmuto, MIA vs. WAS($2,700)- Realmuto's price is considerably low for a hitter who has multi-hit outings in three of his last five games and that's slashing an impressive .312/.352/.438 overall on the season. He'll take aim at Nationals rookie starter A.J. Cole, who's given up a .313 wOBA to right-handed hitting on the road, and eight earned runs and a .337 wOBA over his last 16 innings. Realmuto has touched up righties for a stellar .334 average, .358 wOBA and 30.7 percent hard-contact rate, and has a .346 average and .395 wOBA over his last 14 games.

FIRST BASE

Kendrys Morales, KAN vs. CWS ($3,100)- Morales' red-hot bat blasted two more homers Sunday, which helped lead to a mammoth 38.2-fantasy point outing. He could be in line for more Monday, considering that the White Sox roll out southpaw Carlos Rodon, who's given up a .349 wOBA and 18 homers on the season to right-handed hitters, with 10 of those round-trippers coming on the road. The switch-hitting Morales is much better from the right side of the plate overall, as evidenced by his .310 average, .365 wOBA, .202 ISO and 36.6 percent hard-contact rate against lefties. He's also managed a .350 average, six homers, .453 wOBA , .333 ISO and 45.8 percent hard-contact rate in 16 September games.

SECOND BASE

Robinson Cano, SEA vs. TOR ($3,100) - Blue Jays veteran starter Marco Estrada seems to be running out of gas as the season winds down, as he's generated an 8.53 ERA, .360 wOBA and 5.32 xFIP over his last two starts. Cano's price has come down significantly due to an extended slump, but this is still the guy who's tallied a .381 wOBA and .242 ISO, along with a 39.7 percent hard-contact rate when facing right-handers at home. Estrada has been tough on lefty bats this season, but his recent struggles and Cano's cost-effective price make him a high upside tournament play Monday.

THIRD BASE

Adrian Beltre, TEX vs. LAA, ($3,100): Beltre has 21 of his 30 homers on the season against right-handed pitchers, along with a .349 wOBA and 32.8 percent hard-contact rate. The veteran slugger seems to only be getting stronger as the season comes to a close as well, with a .328 average, five homers, .415 wOBA and a .281 ISO over his last 16 games. Angels starter Jhoulys Chacin has given up a bloated .373 wOBA, 10 homers and a 33.5 percent hard-contact rate on the road this season, and a .344 wOBA to righty bats away from Angel Stadium as well.

SHORTSTOP

Andrelton Simmons, LAA at TEX ($2,300): Simmons is experiencing a modest power surge as the season winds down, with three of his four homers on the season coming in his last 13 games, during which he's also posted a .333 average, .441 wOBA and .311 ISO. He also owns an impressive .340 wOBA against southpaws, while Rangers starter Martin Perez has yielded a .345 wOBA and eight homers to right-handed hitters at home, along with a 31.5 percent hard-contact rate. With double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games, Simmons' near-minimum price renders him particularly appealing in a hitter's park Monday.

OUTFIELD

Yasmany Tomas, ARI at SDP ($2,600): Padres starter Clayton Richard has given up a .352 wOBA to right-handed hitters, along with a 32.4 percent hard-contact rate when facing them at Petco Park. Tomas has been an absolute terror against southpaws all season, particularly on the road, where he's posted an absurd .390 average, .510 wOBA, .407 ISO, 220 wRC and astronomical 75 percent HR/FB rate over a 65-plate appearance sample.

Seth Smith, SEA vs. TOR ($2,900): Smith blasted two more homers Sunday, part of a September in which he's hit .324 with five homers, 11 RBI, a .475 wOBA and .459 ISO over a 13-game stretch. He's also blasted righty arms on the season to the tune of a .355 wOBA that rises to a whopping .413 (along with a 21.1 percent HR/FB rate and 33.7 percent hard contact rate) when facing them at home. Meanwhile, Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada's recent struggles were detailed earlier, making him an inviting target.

Alex Dickerson, SDP vs. ARI ($3,000): Dickerson takes a crack at D-backs starter Braden Shipley, who's generated a .365 wOBA and given up a 2.43 HR/9 and nine of his 11 homers on the season to lefty hitters, along with a 43.9 percent hard-contact rate when facing them away from Chase Field. Dickerson owns a .340 wOBA, .216 ISO and 38.1 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching at home, and has hit eight of his nine homers on the season against that handedness as well.
