DraftKings MLB: Monday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Bartolo Colon, NYM at MIA ($7,900): The Marlins are a bottom-10 team against right-handed pitching, according to wOBA, and will take the worst fly ball percentage in the league against Colon's 43 percent ground ball rate. The ageless wonder has allowed just seven runs (six earned) in his last five starts (32.2 innings).

Sean Manaea, OAK at LAA ($7,700): Manaea's major league career began on a rough note, but the 24-year-old has started to find his footing, as he has allowed just three runs (one earned) over his last four starts. Manaea should be able to keep the Angels off balance with his changeup, as they enter with the second-lowest mark in the league against the pitch, according to runs above average.

CATCHER

Stephen Vogt, OAK at LAA ($3,300): Opposing starter Jered Weaver has allowed at least one home run in his last nine appearances, and he carries a .515 slugging percentage against left-handed hitters. Vogt could yield a nice return for his price, as he has tallied a .155 ISO against right-handed pitchers.

FIRST BASE

Chris Carter, MIL at TEX ($4,500) Carter warrants heavy consideration in his matchup against Martin Perez, as he boasts a whopping .328 ISO against lefties, and he should be able to use his fly ball tendencies to exploit the 25-year-old's 53 percent ground ball rate.

SECOND BASE

Logan Forsythe, TB at CWS ($4,000):James Shields has been rouged up by righties this year, having allowed 23 homers in just 87 innings. Forsythe does his best work against lefties, but he could look to do damage against Shields' changeup, as he holds a runs above average score of 4.0 against the pitch.

THIRD BASE

Jose Ramirez, CLE at DET ($4,800): Ramirez has performed solidly against righties, tallying a .315/.365/.465 batting line with a .355 wOBA. Ramirez has also notched a runs above average score of 8.0 against the changeup, a pitch opposing starter Buck Farmer throws nearly 24 percent of the time.

SHORTSTOP

Brad Miller TB at CWS (4,600): Unlike his teammate, Miller puts his best foot forward when facing right-handed pitching, as evidenced by his .268 ISO over 425 at-bats. While he isn't the least expensive, Shields may be the best pitcher to stack against in the main slate, as he has allowed multiple home runs in six of his last nine starts.

OUTFIELD

Khris Davis, OAK at LAA ($4,400): Davis has shown consistent power against both sides of the platoon, resulting in a .273 ISO. Weaver has seen some good results with his curveball, but Davis' big bat will put it to the test, as he has notched a 6.0 runs above average score against the pitch.

Adam Duvall, CIN at STL ($3,500):Jaime Garcia will move back into the rotation after two appearances out of the bullpen, but may find it difficult to give the Cardinals length, as he has not pitched more than four innings in any of his last four outings. Duvall is the type of hitter that could potentially give Garcia problems, as he will bring his 47 percent fly ball rate against the southpaws' ground ball profile.

Tyler Naquin, CLE at DET ($4,000): Naquin has shown thump against righties during his inaugural season in the major leagues, notching a .236 ISO and a .379 wOBA against his opposite hand over 276 at-bats. He has also tallied a runs above average mark of 8.0 against the changeup, meaning the duo of Naquin and Ramirez against Farmer has the potential to produce a nice point total.

Other options: Yoenis Cespedes, NYM at MIA ($4,500); Carlos Beltran, TEX vs. MIL ($4,100); Brandon Moss, STL vs. CIN ($4,100)
