Pitcher
Lance McCullers, HOU vs SEA ($8,800): This was a tough choice between McCullers and Kenta Maeda ($8,600) given their respective matchups and similar price. McCullers, a popular sleeper pick this season, gets the nod here thanks to his higher upside in strikeouts. Over his final 13 starts last season he recorded at least six strikeouts per game, with four of those games being 10-strikeout efforts. The last two times he faced the Mariners last season he had eight and 10 strikeouts, showing he can mow down this lineup.
Catcher
Buster Posey, SF at ARI ($3,200): Posey's price is a little depressed given where it was most of last season. Patrick Corbin has struggled against this lineup, giving up a .928 OPS to the Giants as a team, and the park move from San Francisco to Arizona plays in Posey's favor. For his career he has hit lefties 35 points higher (.400 to .365 wOBA), putting him in a great spot tonight.
First Base
Carlos Santana, CLE at TEX ($3,500): Santana isn't a bargain and while it's tempting to take Greg Bird ($2,400) at a discount, Jake Odorizzi was very effective against left-handed hitting last year. Santana's best splits for his career are exactly the situation he's in tonight: away vs a lefty (.367 wOBA). Meanwhile Martin Perez struggled the most at home against right-handed hitters in 2016, giving up a .350 wOBA.
Second Base
Logan Forsythe, LAD vs SD ($2,800): The Dodgers face off against Clayton Richard, and it's a good matchup for the right-handed Forsythe. This is a nice price for a middle infielder who hit left-handed pitching to the tune of a .330 wOBA last season. Richard is a dream matchup and stacking the Dodger righties might not be a bad idea given his career .387 wOBA against them when he's pitched away from home.
Shortstop
Carlos Correa, HOU vs SEA ($3,900): Shortstop tonight is a thin position so it makes sense to go ahead and pay up for a stud. Correa appears to be in a good spot against Hisashi Iwakuma, who has looked very suspect during his spring outings. While it's a limited sample Correa has a 1.045 OPS in 11 plate appearances against Iwakuma. It doesn't hurt that the young Astro star homered last night and has as much upside as anyone at the position this season.
Third Base
Evan Longoria, TB vs NYY ($3,200): Longoria homered in his first game and is going to be super chalky tonight given his history against CC Sabathia. CC is on the downside of a great career and has allowed Longoria to post a 1.319 wOBA over 85 plate appearances against him. Those numbers include seven home runs. Sabathia has struggled against right-handed hitters in general the last two seasons, giving up a .316 and .370 wOBA.
Outfield
Hunter Pence, SF at ARI ($2,500): It's not a bad option to consider stacking the Giants tonight, or at least using both Pence and Posey in the same lineup. Like Posey, Pence has had better success against left-handed pitching during his career with a wOBA 15 points higher than against right-handers. He also benefits from being in a better hitter's park for this one and has a 1.696 OPS against Corbin over 25 at-bats, including four home runs.
Keon Broxton, MIL vs COL ($3,000): Ideally Broxton would be hitting leadoff and utilizing his speed, but sixth isn't the worst spot in the Brewers' lineup. He has that power/speed combo and last season had a .916 OPS against left-handed pitching. Broxton's opponent, Tyler Anderson, predictably struggled against right-handed hitters last season, allowing a .333 wOBA against them.
Carlos Beltran, HOU vs SEA ($3,200): It seems like a Houston stack should be SOP in GPPs on a nightly basis regardless of who they're facing. Playing with Correa, Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman is going to have Beltran flying under the radar on most nights but this shouldn't be one of them. While he's no spring chicken, he has a .365 career wOBA against right-handed pitching and owns a 1.674 OPS against Iwakuma including a home run and three doubles in only 12 plate appearances.
