Weekly Hitter Rankings: Hot Sox Hit the Road

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

Next to Opening Day, Memorial Day is my favorite day on the schedule. Wall-to-wall baseball highlights the day representing the gateway to summer, especially for those of us living in places where the summer only lasts three of four months.

A full Monday also means more seven-day work weeks. Here's the info you need to maximize the potential in your lineup.

MLB HITTER RANKINGS

TEAM vLHP vRHP HOME AWAY HR LHB HR RHB Comment
Arizona Diamondbacks 1 6 0 7 96 77 Looks worse than it is for Snakes RHB, opposing RHP not especially daunting
Atlanta Braves 1 5 0 6 108 105 Picking up DH first half of the week, should keep Rio Ruiz in the lineup
Baltimore Orioles 4 3 7 0 116 106 Home, facing three southpaws. Great week for Trey Mancini, bad for Seth Smith
Boston Red Sox 2 5 0 7 115 106 Offense finally heating up, let's see if they can keep it up on the road
Chicago Cubs 0 6 3 3 78 111 Away from Wrigley all week, but no lefties means Kyle Schwarber in better shape
Chicago White Sox 4 2 3 3 106 104 Draw David Price for his debut then Chris Sale for his return to the South Side
Cincinnati Reds 1 5 3 3 119 110 Open the week north of the border, hope their DH remembers his passport
Cleveland Indians 3 4 4 3 97 95 Three LHP on the schedule, will be interesting how much

Cleveland Indians 3 4 4 3 97 95 Three LHP on the schedule, will be interesting how much Bradley Zimmer plays
Colorado Rockies 3 4 2 5 96 110 A pair in Seattle means DH for a pair, Mark Reynolds in good spot facing 3 LHP
Detroit Tigers 1 5 3 3 90 91 Not the best set-up, but opposing pitching is middling at best
Houston Astros 2 4 0 6 98 103 On the road all week, start the studs, consider benching fringe hitters
Kansas City Royals 2 4 6 0 80 81 Even six at home doesn't help this scuffling lineup, best to look elsewhere
Los Angeles Angels 2 5 7 0 87 98 Seven at home helps, but other then Trout and Pujols, Halos sputtering
Los Angeles Dodgers 0 7 0 7 120 96 Good week for lefty-swinging Dodgers, too bad Joc Pederson is out with concussion
Miami Marlins 2 5 7 0 92 77 Seven games helps, but still not the most productive lineup past top five or so
Milwaukee Brewers 2 5 3 4 123 116 Full seven games, but draw Kershaw, deGrom, Hill and Maeda, could be a tough week
Minnesota Twins 0 7 3 4 88 101 Seven RHP good news for Joe Mauer, Max Kepler, Eddie Rosario and Jason Castro
New York Mets 0 7 7 0 104 119 Big week for Mets LHB, all seven at home, all seven facing righties
New York Yankees 1 6 0 7 112 108 Yankees offense slowing down, now on the road but in two good hitting venues in AL East
Oakland Athletics 0 7 3 4 97 95 Seven righties on the docket, busy week for Stephen Vogt and Matt Joyce
Philadelphia Phillies 3 3 3 3 100 100 You want see a more average week all season. H/A split, LHP/RHP split and parks exactly neutral
Pittsburgh Pirates 2 4 3 3 103 98 Not a lot to see here, use the better Bucs, look for better choices than the others
San Diego Padres 1 5 6 0 74 105 Six at Petco doesn't move the needle, Friars still struggling to score consistently
San Francisco Giants 1 5 3 3 83 99 Three over the weekend in Philly versus all RHP give the Giants LHB a decent outlook
Seattle Mariners 2 5 5 2 112 109 It will be very interesting if the Mariners let Nelson Cruz roam the spacious Coors outfield
St. Louis Cardinals 3 4 4 3 91 98 Three LHP on the ledger, good for Grichuk, Piscotty, Pham, Diaz, Pham and Gyorko.
Tampa Bay Rays 2 4 0 6 108 101 On the road for six, but facing some soft pitching helps. Still, Morrison and Kiermaier sketchy
Texas Rangers 1 5 6 0 105 100 Six in Arlington the good news, facing some strong pitchers, not so much
Toronto Blue Jays 2 5 7 0 109 109 Jays finally healthy and home for a week. Could this be the elixir for a sluggish couple of months?
Washington Nationals 1 5 0 6 70 78 Away in two of the best pitching venues in the league, but can use DH in Oakland
