FantasyDraft MLB: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft MLB series.

Pitcher

Michael Fulmer, DET vs SF ($18,800) – After a recent rough stretch, Fulmer has turned his game around over his past two starts, recording 15 strikeouts in the last 15.2 innings, while allowing just three runs. The matchup against the Giants is one of the best on the board as San Francisco carries the lowest wOBA against righties this season.

Corey Kluber, CLE vs SD ($24,600) -- The night slate offers plenty of good pitching options, but none better than Kluber. Kluber has been on a roll since returning from the DL at the beginning of June. In six starts since his return, he's averaged over 10 strikeouts per game, while allowing just one run per game. The matchup against the Padres is about as good as it gets, as San Diego enters with the highest K% and third-lowest wOBA against righties this season.

INFIELD

Alex Avila, DET vs SF ($7,600) – Avila is always in play when he faces a righty, but when the righty is Matt Cain, he's nearly a must-have. Cain has managed to avoid disaster for the most part this season, but he still holds a 5.46 ERA and is liable to give up runs in bunches. Avila enters with a .441 wOBA against righties this season.

Miguel Sano, MN vs LAA ($8,800) – J.C. Ramirez takes the hill for the Angels, which means there are plenty of Twins in play. Ramirez enters with a 4.60 ERA and he's been particularly bad of late, allowing five runs or more in two of his past three starts. Sano has been the best bat in the Twins lineup all season and he's the best against righties as well. Sano enters with a .379 wOBA against righties this season.

Eric Sogard, MIL vs BAL ($6,800)Ubaldo Jimenez pitched a gem his last time out, but the odds of another such performance are miniscule. In fact, Jimenez has been so bad this season, odds are he gets back to his old form sooner than later. The Brewers are a good stack option because they have a plethora of left-handed bats that can get to Jimenez. Sogard is one such bat as he leads the Brewers with a .410 wOBA against righties this season.

OUTFIELD

Aaron Judge, NYY vs TOR ($10,800) – As recently as a couple weeks ago, Judge was a player you could draft without much thought given to the matchup, but his price has risen so high that you have to consider the matchup now. Judge will face J.A. Happ, at Yankee stadium, which sets up one of his better splits -- at home, against a lefty. Judge enters with a .490 wOBA against lefties this season, but at home, that number jumps to .532, which is best on the team.

Charlie Blackmon, COL vs CIN ($10,400)Homer Bailey takes the mound for the Reds, and through two starts, he's been about as bad as a starter can be. Bailey has allowed 14 runs in just 4.2 innings through two starts. He's bound to get better, but Coors Field is rarely a place that pitchers find their game. Blackmon has the second highest wOBA on the team against righties.

Khris Davis, OAK vs CHW ($9,300) – Davis has been on a roll lately, smashing four home runs in his past five games, all against right-handed pitching and he'll face another righty in James Shields, who enters with a 3.98 ERA, but he's surrendered 12 runs in his past 15 innings.

UTILITY

Raimel Tapia, COL vs CIN ($7,600) – As mentioned earlier, with Bailey on the mound, you'll want to target as many Rockies as possible. The problem with that, though, is that stacking Rockies is generally cost prohibitive. With that said, the Rockies have a bunch of injuries right now, so we have some less expensive options to consider. Tapia is one of those options, and while he hasn't produced at a high level yet, he'll be in a great spot to provide a lot of value.

Elvis Andrus, TEX vs BOS ($8,400)David Price takes the mound for the Red Sox, and it's clear that he's not the pitcher he was once. With that in mind, it's okay to target hitters against him, especially when we are looking at a lineup as strong as the Rangers'. Elvis Andrus has been the most consistent bat in the Rangers lineup all season and is 14-for-29 lifetime against Price with seven stolen bases.
