Yahoo DFS Baseball: Monday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Baseball series.

Two aces reign over Monday's slate, but there are plenty of other options for pitching. Even on a small schedule, there are cheaper pitchers to use and cheaper ones to go against.

PITCHER

Robbie Ray, ARI vs. STL ($46): Ray threw six scoreless innings in his return from the DL last start and should be on less of a leash in this game. His 35.2 K% should come in useful against the Cardinals, which own a 23.3 K% and .294 wOBA against southpaws since the beginning of May.

Nathan Eovaldi, TB at MIA ($37): Eovaldi won't have a high ownership percentage, but he's coming off six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts against the Nationals. At the least, he's hit 10 fantasy points in all six of his starts this year and the Marlins won't slow him down. Miami is middle of the road against righties since the beginning of May with a 22.8 K% and .314 wOBA, both in the same range as Washington.

CATCHER

Omar Narvaez, CWS at CIN ($11): Narvaez comes cheap, yet has provided value against righties all season with a .341 BABIP. That's enough against Luis Castillo, who gets shelled almost every outing. He's given up at least three runs in his last six starts and has a 2.14 HR/9 against lefty bats.

FIRST BASE

Edwin Encarnacion, CLE at KC ($20): Encarnacion is good for power with 16 homers against righties, which is near his career .235 ISO. There's little reason to trust Jakob Junis on the mound having allowed at least five runs in three of his last four starts to go with a 2.00 HR/9 against righties over the last two years.

SECOND BASE

Daniel Robertson, TB at MIA ($10): Robertson's a cheap second baseman that has shown some power in limited time with a .190 ISO and .335 wOBA against southpaws. That could work against Wei-Yin Chen, who has a 6.14 ERA and miserable 6.42 xFIP against righties this year.

THIRD BASE

Jose Ramirez, CLE at KC ($24): The Indians are in a good position to rip Junis and Ramirez is at the top of the list. He has 21 homers against righties and a career .205 ISO, which is slightly lower than his mark the last couple years. Junis lacks positive numbers and his 5.15 xFIP against lefty bats this year is one of those.

SHORTSTOP

Jose Peraza, CIN vs. CWS ($17): Peraza costs extra at shortstop, but he's in a decent situation. Peraza has at least two hits in four of his last six games and James Shields can continue that streak. The righty hurler has a rough 5.03 xFIP against righties this year after getting roped for a 4.51 xFIP last season.

OUTFIELD

Brett Gardner, NYY vs. ATL ($13): Gardner's price fell after a few rough weeks, but he'll come around at some point with a .331 wOBA against righties this year after a .191 ISO and .359 wOBA last season. There's little reason to trust Anibal Sanchez, who has already allowed four homers against 84 lefties faced after a 4.43 xFIP in 2017.

Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE at KC ($13): Chisenhall hasn't played much this year due to injury, but still has a solid .339 BABIP against righties, which is near last year's .355 wOBA. Since a hot start, Junis has fallen apart with at least three runs allowed in his last six starts to go with a troubling career 4.84 xFIP against lefty bats.

Charlie Tilson, CWS at CIN ($8): Tilson could be in line for a start after Leury Garcia ($16) left Sunday's game with a jammed finger. As a bonus for a cheap bat, Tilson's hitting righties at a solid rate with a .358 BABIP. Castillo has had issues against lefties in his two years in the league with a.325 wOBA allowed and 4.38 xFIP.
