FantasyDraft NBA: Weekly Value Plays

FantasyDraft NBA: Weekly Value Plays

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NBA series.

Each week, RotoWire will provide value plays for your daily fantasy basketball lineups on FantasyDraft. Users have a salary cap of $100,000 to select a lineup comprised of three guards, three forwards/centers and two utility players.

FantasyDraft runs NBA contests each and every day. There are 50/50s, guaranteed tournaments and more available options in the lobby, so be sure to check it out. With contests at every entry fee level, there are a ton of options to choose from. This is your last chance to win during the 2015-16 regular season, as the campaign comes to a close Wednesday.

The target for each player to reach value is 2.5x the player's salary. If a player costs $10,000 against the cap, expected value is 25 fantasy points.

Seth Curry ($9,300)
Don't be shocked if the much cheaper and less heralded Curry actually ends up being a greater fantasy asset than his brother Wednesday. Seth dished out 15 dimes to go with 20 points Monday in Phoenix, and the point guard job is all his with Rajon Rondo and Darren Collison both sitting. While expecting a repeat might be a bit much, he should still be a major factor against a vulnerable Rockets defense.

James Ennis ($8,000)
New Orleans' injury-filled season is mercifully ending Wednesday, but not before their unheralded backups get one final chance to shine in extended minutes. Ennis is one of those backups, and he proved to be far more valuable than his $8,000 price suggests in exploding for 29 points against the Bulls on Monday. The Pelicans aren't exactly teeming with quality alternatives, and their short rotation lends itself to quality fantasy performances.

Gordon Hayward ($12,900)
Hayward's Jazz need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, so expect them to lean heavily on their leading scorer against a pathetic Lakers team. With so many of the league's top producers in jeopardy of being rested, Utah's must-win scenario creates a valuable fantasy environment. Hayward has topped 40.0 fantasy points in three straight while averaging 40 minutes per game in that span, and it'd be shocking if he didn't make it four given the situation.

Matt Barnes($10,400)
Barnes was far from awed by his proximity to possible history when he faced the Warriors on Saturday, nearly leading the Grizzlies to a victory with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Memphis will have to conjure up a huge upset if they want to avoid being known as the team Golden State beat for win No. 73, and Barnes will likely once again be leading the charge. With a premier game against the Spurs sandwiching their two matchups with Memphis, it's doubtful the Warriors have had much time to change their approach regarding the veteran, so he should be primed for another terrific effort in the finale.

Notable Injuries

Derrick Rose (rest), Out
Rose was shut down by the Bulls for the remainder of the season Monday. Chicago sees no purpose in running the oft-injured former MVP out there with the playoffs out of reach, meaning Aaron Brooks should be in for extended point guard minutes in the finale. Veteran big man Pau Gasol is also sitting.

Kenneth Faried (undisclosed), Doubtful
Faried is unlikely to play Wednesday after missing the last two games. "For me, I'm just trying to get my body healed back right for USA Basketball", Faried said Monday. That doesn't sound like a player itching to get back out there, meaning Nikola Jokic should once again be primed to take advantage of additional room inside.

Aaron Gordon (concussion), Day-to-Day
Gordon hasn't played since last Wednesday due to a concussion. Head injuries are notoriously tricky to deal with, so expect the Magic to take the cautious approach with their springy young forward and hold him out for Wednesday's meaningless finale against the Pelicans. The same logic likely applies to fellow concussion victim Victor Oladipo.

Rajon Rondo (rest), Out
Rondo will be rested for the remainder of the season. With Darren Collison sitting for the same reason, Seth Curry might end up playing more minutes than his brother Wednesday.

John Wall (knee), Day-to-Day
Wall hasn't played since Apr. 3 with a knee injury. He's apparently almost feeling good enough to play, but expect Ramon Sessions to get the starting nod if Wall is at anything less than 100 percent Wednesday.

Tyson Chandler (concussion), Day-to-Day
Chandler didn't play Monday, and the Suns don't have much motivation to dress him Wednesday. Younger alternatives Alex Len and Jon Leuer should dominate the frontcourt minutes in the veteran's absence.
