FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Wednesday's NBA slate features plenty of exciting action, with 12 games on tap beginning at 7:00 PM Eastern time. Read on to see which players stand out from the pack as options to target at their respective valuations. FanDuel's format only counts the eight highest scores in your nine-player lineup, so keep that in mind when making your selections.

POINT GUARD

Kris Dunn, CHI vs. BKN ($7,000): Dunn's picked things up with Zach LaVine out due to an ankle injury over the past two games, averaging 32.9 fantasy points per game. The fifth overall selection in the 2016 draft will continue to carry an increased offensive load with LaVine already ruled out for this one. Except Dunn to find success against a Nets team that's traveling from Brooklyn to play its second game in as many nights.

Derrick Rose, MIN vs. DET ($6,200): Rose has been one of the best bench players in the league all season, and he should be even more productive in a starting role with Jeff Teague sidelined by an ankle injury. The 2011 NBA MVP posted 13 points and 11 assists in just 24 minutes with Teague out Monday. His playing time was so low because Minnesota raced out to a 30-point halftime lead in that one, but that's unlikely to be the case here, so Rose is primed to see all the minutes he can handle as a starter.

SHOOTING GUARD

James Harden, HOU vs. WAS ($11,600): Harden's been sensational over the past three games, averaging 43.0 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 8.7 APG and 3.0 steals while posting a pair of triple-doubles in that stretch. A Wizards team that gives up more points per game than everybody except the Hawks and will be playing the second leg of a back-to-back will have a hard time cooling off the red-hot Harden. While Harden doesn't come cheap, you won't find many more optimal times to pay up for him.

Jeremy Lamb, CHA vs. CLE ($6,400): Lamb does just enough things well to end up with nice-looking stat lines more often than not, averaging career highs in points (15.0), rebounds (5.6) and steals (1.2) per game. That production has translated into fantasy success, as Lamb has eclipsed 30.0 fantasy points in 10 of the past 16 games. Another solid outing should be expected against an 8-23 Cavaliers team that's unlikely to pull off back-to-back road wins after stunning the Pacers on Tuesday.

SMALL FORWARD
Solomon Hill, NO at MIL ($4,300): Hill should see plenty of run for a Pelicans club that's extremely shorthanded in the frontcourt with both Nikola Mirotic and Julius Randle sidelined by ankle injuries. While Hill had already averaged 9.0 PPG and 7.0 RPG in 30 minutes over the past two contests with just Mirotic on the shelf, the inexpensive forward will be called upon to do even more with Randle also ruled out after spraining his ankle in New Orleans' last game.

Trevor Ariza, WAS at HOU ($5,800):Ariza stuffed the stat sheet Tuesday in his first game since getting traded to the Wizards, racking up 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six steals. He'll be motivated to produce similar results against a Houston team that opted not to retain him in free agency after last season. The Rockets are paying dearly for that decision based on their record, and Ariza will get plenty of opportunities to remind them of that with his contributions on both ends. With Otto Porter still sidelined by a knee injury, look for Ariza to once again approach the 38 minutes of court time he saw Tuesday.

POWER FORWARD

Anthony Davis, NO at MIL ($12,700): It will require some bargain hunting, but clearing the cap space to fit Davis is a must with both Mirotic and Randle out. He's posted 74.6 and 68.9 fantasy points in these past two games without Mirotic and is likely to have his scoring and rebounding loads rise even further sans Randle. At the same time, Davis remains an excellent source of hustle stats and is even capable of an outburst in the assist category given how much he has the ball in his hands.

Larry Nance, CLE at CHA ($7,000): Nance has unlocked a new level of passing ability in recent games, dishing out six or more assists in five of the past six games. He's also averaging a near double-double with 11.3 PPG and 9.0 RPG over that span. Throw in Nance's 2.2 steals and 1.0 block per game in that stretch, and you get an extremely well-rounded player who's more than capable of overcoming an off night in any particular category.

CENTER

Cody Zeller, CHA vs. CLE ($5,500): Zeller's put together a nice stretch over the past four games, chipping in 13.3 PPG and 9.0 RPG, along with 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. He should get plenty of run against a tired Cavaliers team that employs a beefy front court, and thus makes for a nice affordable piece at $5,500. With the high ceilings presented by some of this slate's more expensive players, finding affordable yet effective options like Zeller is the key to building a winning lineup.
