There really is no real fantasy value here, especially with the talk of Snow taking on more of a player-coach type of role.
With LeBron James's growing maturity, Snow's veteran presence was no longer enough to keep him in the starting lineup. He'll continue to see some time as a defensive specialist while honing his leadership skills for a future coaching career.
Poor Eric Snow. If Larry Brown had won the Madison Square Garden power struggle, Snow might have become a featured player at the Mecca of basketball. Instead, he’ll fade to obscurity in Cleveland. Snow’s veteran presence will be less and less valuable as LeBron James matures, and with James and Larry Hughes – outstanding passers both – on the floor, Cleveland doesn’t really need a prototype point on the floor all that much. Look for promising rookie Shannon Brown, or Damon Jones (if he can recapture the game he apparently left in Miami) to cut into Snow’s playing time this year.
Snow will split minutes at the point guard spot with Jones this year, likely coming off the bench. Snow has always provided assists, a couple threes and solid shooting percentage, but as a part-time player, he doesn't have a lot of upside.
Snow can be a solid assists guy, but coach Paul Silas has declared Jeff McInnis the starter for the Cavs, so temper your expectations for the ex-Sixer.
Snow will once again be the Sixers starting point guard, and we expect him to log heavy minutes given the solid season he had last year. Snow is also one of the best defensive point guards in the league. 12 points, six assists and three rebounds are safe bets for Snow with room for more.
