Jonathan Bender

Pacers Team President Donnie Walsh has made a number of savvy personnel moves in his time, but the draft day trade for Bender might rank among his biggest regrets, if not mistakes, at least in terms of opportunity costs. Only once in his career has Bender played at least 60 games in a season, and he's never averaged more than 10 points per game in a season. Much of Bender's non-production can be attributed to his health issues and some of it can be blamed on the Pacers' depth, but the fact remains that he hasn't been able to consistently produce. While we've seen occasional glimpses of his potential, Bender is now at a crossroads in his career; if a breakthrough doesn't happen this year, it may never happen.
