Charlie Bell

Bell never lived up to the promise that he showed two years ago and has been a little bit of a disappointment. He has the ability to come off the bench and score and shoots the three-point shot well. Expect him to play mostly the shooting guard and small forward positions, helping out wherever the Bucks need him.

He displayed his versatility by recording a triple-double during the 2006-07 season, but showed few flashes last year. Bell can pass and hit triples, but is stuck in a logjam with Ridnour, Sessions, and Lue.

Getting Charlie Villanueva for T.J. Ford approaches the “no-brainer” level. Having Charlie Bell on the bench made the decision even easier for Lenny Harris. Bell played so well as Ford’s primary backup – posting double-digit scoring in 12 straight games in March and April – Milwaukee coach Terry Stotts publicly considered making Bell the starter. This season, Bell is the presumptive starter at the point, but it remains to be seen how well he’ll hold up over an entire season; bear in mind, 2005 was his first full year in the NBA – he played in the Italian league in 2002-2004 – and he’ll need to fend off capable backups Mo Williams and Steve Blake.
