Cedric Simmons

Until the Hornets signed Melvin Ely, it looked like Simmons would be the primary backup to David West entering the 2006-07 season. When West was injured last season, Simmons did very little with a four-game stint as starter in December, then played little down the stretch (5:30 mpg after All-Star break). The Hornets traded Simmons to Cleveland, with whom he is expected to get decent minutes as long as Anderson Varejao holds out and his ankle stays healthy.
