O'Bryant was waived by the Bobcats on Wednesday, Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bobcats brought in the ninth overall pick in the 2006 draft on a non-guaranteed deal earlier this month and it appears he failed to impress the organization enough to earn a roster spot. O'Bryant could look to play overseas or potentially head to the D-League this season.

O'Bryant continues to live up to his first round bust label, and hasn't even been able to carve out a shot-blocking specialist role for himself. He's nothing but a depth player for the Raptors.
O'Bryant is a low-risk reclamation project for the Celtics this season. The Warriors selected O'Bryant ninth overall in the 2006 draft, but he spent more time with the Bakersfield Jam than he did in Oakland. Signed to a two-year deal, O'Bryant is nominally Perkins' backup – but the Celtics have several other players who can man the middle depending on matchup, including Kevin Garnett. Don't expect major minutes.
O’Bryant, the Warriors first round draft pick in 2006 (#9 overall), spent most of the year in the NBDL last year. Playing time will be limited for O’Bryant again this year as he will most likely be the Warriors third string center behind Andris Biedrins and Kosta Perovic.
The Warriors have been looking for a center for some time now, but with the coaching change to Don Nelson – and his preference for a quicker, running team – O’Bryant may not get off the bench. He had a nice run in the NCAA tourney, but is still a year or two away.
