Bulls and Mavericks Face Off in Lone Star State Showdown
The Chicago Bulls take on the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulls (4-8) check into Sunday's game on a discouraging skid after a 4-4 start to their season, as Chicago has dropped four consecutive decisions. Their most recent stumble came in a wild back-and-forth affair with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which edged them by a 127-125 margin in overtime Friday night. Zach LaVine led the way for the Bulls with 35 points, adding seven rebounds, six assists and one steal. Coby White followed with 22 points, complementing them with nine rebounds and seven assists. Wendell Carter, Jr. and Lauri Markkanen produced matching 16-point tallies while pulling down 11 and six rebounds, respectively. Patrick WIlliams contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

The Bulls will list Tomas Satoransky and Chandler Hutchison as out for Sunday's game due to COVID-19 protocols, while Luke Kornet (undisclosed) will also remain out.

The Mavericks (6-5) have been trending in a much better direction than their opponent, as they'll come into Sunday's contest with victories in four of their last five games. However, their one loss during that span came in their most recent contest, with Dallas dropping a narrow 112-109 decision to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. Luka Doncic paced the Mavericks with 28 points, adding 13 assists and nine rebounds. Tim Hardaway registered 22 points, six boards and one block. Kristaps Porzingis generated a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double that also included one assist and two blocks. James Johnson and Trey Burke posted matching 13-point tallies.

The Mavericks will list Porzingis (ankle) as probable for Sunday's contest. Josh Richardson, Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell and Dorian Finney-Smith will remain out due to COVID-19 protocols, while Jalen Brunson will carry a questionable tag for the same reason. Hardaway (groin) will also be listed as questionable.

Sunday's game marks the second and final meeting between the teams this season. The Bulls hold a 1-0 series lead, having notched a 118-108 victory back on Jan. 3.
