The Sacramento Kings take on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Kings (13-28) have largely endured a season of misery, and they currently find themselves in the midst of one of their poorest stretches of the season. Sacramento has lost eight of their last 10 games, with their most recent defeat coming at the hands of this same Clippers squad by a 121-115 score on Thursday evening. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the way with 22 points, a total he supplemented with four rebounds and two assists. George Hill led the first unit with 21 points and added three assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block. Zach Randolph posted 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal. Kosta Koufos turned in a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double that also included one assist, two steals and one block. Buddy Hield matched Koufos' point total and also hauled in five assists and four rebounds. Willie Cauley-Stein pitched in 12 points, seven boards and one block.
The Kings count Frank Mason III as their one injury of note coming into Saturday. The rookie will miss multiple weeks with a heel injury.
The Clippers (20-21) have endured their fair share of adversity recently, but they've started to get somewhat healthier and have been able to string some wins together. Los Angeles has notched three consecutive victories, with their most recent the aforementioned 121-115 win against Sacramento on Thursday, a game that marked the return to action of both Blake Griffin (concussion) and Milos Teodosic (foot). Lou Williams followed up a career-high 50-point effort in his previous game with a team-leading 30 points, a total he supplemented with six assists, two steals and one block. Montrezl Harrell followed with a bench-leading 25 points and also pitched in six boards and one steal. Griffin generated an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double that also included six assists and one steal. Wesley Johnson tallied 13 points, three boards, one assist and one steal. Teodosic collected 10 points, nine assists and one rebound. DeAndre Jordan registered eight points, seven rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes before suffering an ankle injury on an awkward fall during a rebound attempt.
The Clippers will remain without the services of Austin Rivers (heel) and Danilo Gallinari (glute) on Saturday. Meanwhile, both Jordan and C.J. Williams (ankle) project as questionable.
Saturday's game will mark the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season. Los Angeles has notched victories in the first three contests by scores of 97-95, 122-95 and 121-115.
