Warriors Looking To Close Things Out Against Mavericks
The Golden State Warriors will host the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center on Thursday night in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. The Warriors hold a 3-1 lead in the series.

The Warriors could have completed the sweep Tuesday, but they could not get the job done and will now have to close things out in front of their fans. That might be an added pressure for some teams, but that shouldn’t be the case with the Warriors. Some of their players need to step it up compared to their efforts in Game 4, though. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 20 points, eight assists and five rebounds, while Draymond Green had a solid all-around performance with 10 points, six assists and six boards. Andrew Wiggins had 13 points and five boards, while Klay Thompson only had 12 points while shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-6 from deep. Jonathan Kuminga had 17 points and eight rebounds despite coming off the bench. Golden State is just one win away from reaching the final for the sixth time in the last eight seasons.

The Mavericks knew they had their backs against the wall in Game 4 and used a strong performance from Luka Doncic, who led the way for Dallas and came close to a triple-double after putting up 30 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists, to force to another pivotal Game 5. Other Dallas players performed well in that contest, too. Dorian Finney-Smith had a strong game and recorded 23 points with six boards and two assists. Reggie Bullock had 18 points, and Jalen Brunson finished with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Maxi Kleber had a strong game off the bench with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Spencer Dinwiddie had 10 points with eight assists despite not starting. The Mavericks know they face a daunting task in Game 5, though, as they need to steal the win on the road against a Golden State team that has been at its best in front of their fans.
