The Lakers (33-41) earned a second straight win for the first time since the All-Star Break on Tuesday. The team distanced itself from its recent struggles with a strong offensive night, shooting 53.9 percent from the floor in the win. LA led from the first quarter onwards, capitalizing on a weak shooting night by the Wizards (30-45). Washington could not get anything to fall on Tuesday, shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 6-of-32 from beyond the arc.
LeBron James scored 23 points for the Lakers while dishing out a team-high 14 assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the scoring charge for LA, pouring in 29 points in the blowout win. JaVale McGee also continued his career-best tear, scoring 20 points while grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking four shots.
For the Wizards, Bradley Beal scored a game-high 32 points. The rest of Washington's starting five combined for just 27 points, though, as the team struggled to find reliable offense. Off the bench, Jabari Parker contributed 18 points.
Both teams will face the second half of a back-to-back on Wednesday, with the Lakers visiting Utah and the Wizards traveling to Phoenix.
