Timberwolves Hold Off Pelicans, 107-100
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 107-100, at Target Center on Wednesday.

Wednesday's contest ended up being a lot tighter than the Timberwolves might have liked, but some big shot-making from Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns down the stretch helped the team pull out its second straight victory after what was five straight losses. Minnesota built up a lead of 21 points midway through the second quarter, but then the visiting Pelicans slowly started to chip away. With 4:40 left in the final period, a Jrue Holiday jump shot had put New Orleans up by two points. From that point, however, the Timberwolves would rattle off an 11-2 run to ice the game.

Towns finished with a team-high 25 points to go along with 16 rebounds, while Wiggins was close behind with 23 points of his own, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jeff Teague didn't shoot the ball particularly well, going just 4-of-13 from the field, but he still finished with 14 points and a game-high 14 assists in 37 minutes.

The Pelicans' relied on their starters to carry them through all of Wednesday's game, as the five combined to score 95 points, but it still wasn't nearly enough. E'Twaun Moore led the way for New Orleans, scoring a game-high 31 points on 13-of-23 shooting in 38 minutes, while Anthony Davis posted a double-double 29 points and 11 rebounds in 41 minutes. It wasn't the finest offensive performance from Holiday, but he still managed to record a double-double of his own with 14 points and 10 assists.
