Acquired by the Nets in the off-season, Murray adds veteran leadership to an already talented and deep Nets team. Last year with Toronto, Murray played just under 15 minutes per game and with the amount of talent on the Nets this year, Murray should see similar minutes. His totals haven't been attractive to fantasy owners for a few years now and as consistent as Murray may be, this year's stats will be just as mediocre as recent seasons.
In theory Murray returned last year from a foot injury that cost him all of 2002-2003, but for too many nights it seemed like he was still on IR – he made that little impact on the game. In the right situation Murray could still provide 13-16 points a game, but with plenty of other scoring options the Raptors are clearly not that situation. If he gets traded to a team that needs him, he could surprise. If he stays in Toronto, he’ll be at best third on the depth chart at SF, and a fantasy non-entity.
Murray missed all of last season with a foot injury, but the opportunity is still there for him to produce with the Raptors. He'll probably be their third scoring option, and supply 12-14 points and 4-5 rebounds per game. If everyone else in your league has forgotten about him, he could be a draft day steal.
