Ostertag exists to block shots and take up space, nothing else. Whatever offensive game he had has fallen by the wayside as he's gotten older, and he only becomes a low-level fantasy option if Okur should be injured and you need blocked shots (that is, if you can't find a way to trade for Kirilenko instead).
Ostertag signed in the offseason to become the backup to Brad Miller. Ostertag averages just under 21 minutes per game in his career, which is a little more than we expect out of him this year. If Miller goes down, Ostertag becomes more valuable, but he’s nothing more than a waiver-wire pickup right now.
