Already thin on the front line and with Sean May lost for the season, the Bobcats have publicly expressed interest in Jackson, the Gaston Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
If they sign Jackson, he'll fill the role of bruiser and rebounder off the bench, and may see time at both power forward and center.

Jackson was traded to New Jersey after the Nets’ deal for Shareef Abdur-Rahim imploded. He joins a crowded frontcourt with Nenad Krstic, Clifford Robinson and Jason Collins, which got a little less crowded when Robert Traylor failed his physical. He certainly has a spot in the frontcourt rotation and could work himself into a starting gig at power forward.
Marc only played in 22 games last season because of a variety of injuries but will start the season healthy and looking to make an impact. He will need to provide some veteran leadership for Sammy Dalembert while providing important minutes at center and power forward.
Jackson made a name for himself in the 00-01 season with Golden State, averaging 13 points and 7.5 boards. He then got lost in the Warriors' glut of big men, and hasn't seen that level of success since. Back in his home town, he could return to prominence playing significant minutes behind Coleman and Thomas.
