Kevin Hervey

Hervey was born in 1996 in Dallas, Texas to parents Charles and Denise Hervey. He's the youngest of three brothers. Hervey attended Arlington Bowie High School under coach Allen Gratts and earned all-district team honors as a junior. He did not play until the very end of his senior year due to a knee injury but was still considered a three-star recruit nonetheless. Hervey spent four years at Texas-Arlington. As a freshman, he averaged 7.1 points and 5.9 rebounds across 21.7 minutes. As a sophomore, he averaged 18.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 29.8 minutes but played just 16 games. He continued that impressive play during his junior year, where he appeared in 35 games and averaged 17.1 points on 12.9 shots, while adding 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.8 minutes. Those numbers fueled a Sun Belt Player of the Year award. As a senior, Hervey averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals. His collegiate career highs stood at 34 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, five steals and three blocks.
