FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

We are ready to roll with eight games on the board this Sunday, as we head into the final few weeks of the fantasy NBA regular season. We've got our bargain basket stocked full of so many great deals at low prices, it's hard to tell if we're playing on FanDuel or shopping at Walmart. As always, all players listed below are under the $6,000 threshold to help build value into your daily fantasy rosters. Here's a look at today's value plays.

Sunday Value Plays

Point Guard

Alexey Shved, NY, $5,800: Since being traded from Houston to New York in late February, Shved has stepped right into the Knicks rotation, and essentially became their best player, scoring in double digits in nine of his 11 games as a Knick. He's taken over as the starting shooting guard in place of Tim Hardaway Jr, and with averages of 15.1 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over the past two weeks, he shows no signs of giving the job back. It helps that Phoenix is ranked 23rd in points allowed to opposing shooting guards in the past ten games, but for the amount of usage Shved is getting, the price alone is good enough for me to roll him into today's lineups.

Shooting Guard

Danny Green, SAS, $5,600: Green has had the green light from beyond the arc and it's been making his opponents see red, as they've watched him drop 10 treys in the past two games against them. He's been more than just a sharpshooter though, tallying up five blocks and 10 rebounds in the past two games as well. Look for Green to continue to live the dream against a Minnesota squad that allows a whopping 25.2 points per game to opposing shooting guards in the last 10 contests. If he keeps this current pace going, Green won't be a bargain bin baller for long.

Small Forward

Danilo Gallinari, SAS, $5,600:, Den, $5,900: From the "perpetually under $6K" department comes Gallo, who's done nothing but average 17.4 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 treys made over the past month. Those averages should at least place him somewhere in the $6500 range or higher on FanDuel. Until that happens, Gallo's my guy at small forward. The matchup today against New Orleans is neutral for scoring, but with a 23-point game against Atlanta, followed by 24 points against Golden State, Gallinari should have shown you by now he's essentially matchup proof and a supreme bargain for your lineups.

Wesley Johnson, LAL, $4,000: Granted, Wes is coming off a dud performance against the lowly New York Knicks, but the hate has just gone too far, with him being priced just $500 above the minimum today. He's still getting consistent minutes as the starting small forward, averaging 25 minutes or more in the past six games and scoring in double digits in five of those six. That's all you need to return value on a $4K player. Plays like these are types of things you need to do to avoid having to fade Russell Westbrook and his $13K price tag.

Power Forward

Andrea Bargnani, NY, $5,500: It's almost like you can take the DFS mold of Danillo Gallinari, and pour Andrea Bargnani into it. Both of them shoot primarily from the outside, both aren't very good defenders, and both have way too many letters combined in their first and last names. The analysis here is essentially the same. Bargnani is getting the minutes, they need him score, and he's a lock for double digits in points, with 20 point-plus upside. Like Gallo, the price will probably rise above $6K at some point, but until then, he's still a bargain.

Marcus Morris, PHX, $4,500: Now here are the types of plays that DFS players love to look for. A guy like Morris, who has been recently promoted to the starting lineup, producing at a solid rate in terms of fantasy points, and still has a non-starter's price tag. His 18 points, six rebounds and three treys against Atlanta should show that Morris is legit, and is primed for another nice game at home against the Knicks today. I'm locking Morris into my lineups across the board today on FanDuel.

Center

Jordan Hill, LAL, $5,900: Here's a dirty little secret for you; the Atlanta Hawks, one of the top teams in the league, are terrible at the center position in defending rebounds. They rank 26th in rebounds allowed to opposing centers this season, and are down to 29th over the past 10 games, allowing 16.9 rebounds per game. That presents a great opportunity for Hill, who's coming off of a 19-point, double-double performance against the Knicks on Thursday. Hill has also scored in double digits in 11 out of the past 12 games, so a floor of 20 points is fairly safe here. Hill probably won't win you a GPP, but he makes a solid cash game option today on FanDuel.
