FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are seven games scheduled for Sunday, and with two early in the afternoon and five games in the evening, there are plenty of slate options that either group the early games and/or the late games into smaller ones as alternatives to the full seven-game schedule. As such, there are different ways to mix and match players across the different game-play formats to spice things up.

Point Guard
Rajon Rondo vs. TOR ($7,500):
Rondo has gone absolutely nuts since backup Darren Collison went down with an injury last week, posting three triple-doubles in his last four games, and playing an average of 46 minutes per game over that span. His FanDuel fantasy scoring line over the last week reads: 55.9, 30.2, 50.7 and 56.0. That line would fit the Russell Westbrooks or Stephen Currys of the fantasy world, so if Rondo can give you that at several thousand dollars cheaper, he's huge value.

Shooting Guard
Eric Gordon at NYK ($6,000):
Gordon is the primary scoring option for the Pelicans while Anthony Davis (hip) is sidelined. Gordon is averaging 28 points per game over the last two, and while he may not keep that pace, he should have the green light to fire at will Sunday against a Knicks defense that isn't that good.

Alec Burks at ATL ($5,400): Burks is getting more run on the wing with Rodney Hood out with a foot injury. Burks had back-to-back 24-point scoring efforts Tuesday and Thursday, and despite a more modest 11 points Friday in the second game of a back-to-back, he looks like a good candidate to challenge for 20 points again Sunday.

Small Forward
Jae Crowder at OKC ($5,000):
Crowder has been a steals machine -- averaging 4.5 per game over last four -- that is also a nightly threat to approach a points-rebounds double-double. That combo has him averaging a solid 29.1 FPts per game over his last four.

Marcus Morris at POR ($6,000): Morris had a clunker against the Clippers on Saturday, but in the five games before that he had averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 boards, 2.8 steals and 2.2 assists per game and his fantasy scoring average has been up around 30 FPts per game for the whole season. He also has a much easier match-up Sunday against the Lakers than he had Saturday.

Power Forward
Jared Sullinger at OKC ($5,600):
Sullinger has re-taken the starting power forward role in Boston and has scored between 25.2 and 39.1 fantasy points over his last five games, averaging 31.2 per conest.

Ryan Anderson at NYK ($6,000): If Anthony Davis sits again with his hip injury, Anderson should continue to be the scoring focal point in the front court. He had a clunker is his last outing against the Raptors, but before that he had averaged 21 points and 10.3 boards over his previous three games with Davis out of the lineup.

Kristaps Porzingis vs. NOP ($5,500): The Pelicans' defense is a fantasy feast for opposing offenses, as they allow 111.6 points per 100 possessions (worst in NBA) on 53.6 percent EFG (worst in NBA) while playing at a pace of 99.5 possessions per game (fifth-fastest in NBA). If Anthony Davis sits again, Porzingis would be matched up with Ryan Anderson, who is about five inches shorter and has no real advantages in either strength or foot-speed. Porzingis should be able to have his way, able to shoot and operate within his areas of interest without much disruption from Anderson.

Center
Karl-Anthony Towns vs. MEM ($6,900):
Towns is the lowest-priced of the elite center options Sunday. If you're willing to break the bank, then DeMarcus Cousins ($10,500) and Andre Drummond ($9,700) are more likely to post monster numbers, but outside of those two Towns is as good as any other option on the board and almost $1K less than his other scoring peers.
